About the Artist: Born in Berlin in 1899, Heinz / Heinrich Greiffenhagen, known as Henri Hague, is a painter. He went to France in the 1930s and created works representing Parisian life and the carefreeness of the Roaring Twenties. Frequenting artists linked to the School of Paris, he distinguished himself in the artistic Montparnasse of the 1930s. In 1937, he went to London and was noticed by Albert Berthel, who ran the Belgrave Gallery. He died in 1944. A tribute exhibition entitled "A Glimpse in Time, drawings and paintings by Henri Hague" was presented at the Center for Art and Photography at Celebration Company in Houston in March 2019.
