Framed Edouard Benedictus 1928-1929 lithograph from "Nouvelles Variations," featuring 9 geometric textile patterns. 

"Nouvelles Variations" was an album of designs for textiles and wallpapers. As published, it consisted of 20 plates illustrating 75 motifs. Plates were originally issued loose in a clothbacked yellow board portfolio with title information in brown lettering and pochoir-colored illustration tipped onto front cover.

About the artist: Édouard Bénédictus (1878–1930) was a French artist and chemist best known for his invention of laminated safety glass. Born in Paris, France, Bénédictus initially studied law but later pursued his passion for art, attending the Académie Julian. He became associated with the Art Nouveau movement and gained recognition as a painter, illustrator, and set designer.
