We became obsessed with finding vintage Holidaymagazines during the no-travel Summer of 2020. Holiday was a glamorous American travel magazine published from 1946 to 1977 with photo essays and whimsical illustrations alongside articles by famous authors. They offer a fascinating look back to a time when travel was aspirational and not a routine part of life -- an interesting parallel to 2020! Looking through the issues was not only inspiring and revealing of the past, but also a welcome antidote to the wanderlust brought on by the travel restrictions this year.
The cover photography and illustrations are equal parts "work of art" and "time capsule," so framing them seemed like the only appropriate thing to do. Even if we can't travel, we can celebrate it!! Bon voyage....in our dreams and on our walls!
