The Circus Maximus arrives in town - with Mrs. Bellini the Lady Director, Popo the Fire-Eater, Pantalone the Thin Man, Buffo the Monkey, Mr. Nono the Magician, Barbus the Animal Trainer and Pudding the Dwarf. 

One morning Pierre, a little boy who has run away from an orphanage, comes to the circus and asks to join. He is renamed Pierrot and becomes part of the circus family. Then his adventures begin.
